We weren’t even sure of the concept, but it was a good time.  With Fan Fiction (Martin Devaney and Kate Murray) and the poet Matt Rasmussen!

Making it all official!

Welcome to the PowderKeg! Where non-married domestic partners Stephanie Ash and Geoff Herbach live, tell stories, visit friends, listen to music, and—strangest of all—raise a family.

PowderKeg Live! is the all-ages variety show that documents this life and asks important questions like: Am I too pale to go on spring break? Am I old?

With many of your favorites from Electric Arc Radio, like composer Dave Salmela, and actors/writers Jenny Adams Salmela, Kurt Froehlich, and Andy Sturdevant. Some new friends will be there too, like writer Molly Priesmeyer, the PowderKeg Men’s Glee Club (featuring Salmela on keys, John Munson on bass,Ken Chastain on percussion and foley — yes… crazy-good vocals from all three).  Add to that: spellbinding audience questions from Chuck and Sean’s Trivia Mafia!  Stories from comedian Mary Mack, and special poetic appearances by local glitterati!

Shows are at 1p.m. at the Ritz Theater in beautiful Northeast Minneapolis! (Free childcare for kids ages four to ten.)

Our March 6 theme is Spring Break!  Our musical guest is the mega-talented Chris Koza!

Future shows are April 3 and May 8!

Get your tickets now from The Ritz online or by phone: 612.436.1129 Tuesday – Friday, 12:30 PM – 4:30 PM

See you there!

Steph Gives 1st Powder Keg Reading!

Out at the Art Shanties, doing a little Riot Act Reading, Steph gives the first glimpse of the Powder Keg Hood!  Who is that in the background, womaning up on the 80’s-era boom box?  It’s one of our favorites (and a sure bet to be repeatedly on the show), Mary Mack!
